En esta primera reunión de trabajo para la puesta en marcha de una nueva etapa de este Foro se valoraron, en primer lugar, las razones que aconsejan en este momento su reconstitución: la falta de herramientas para la participación directa de la ciudadanía, las numerosas cuestiones abiertas de gran importancia para local population (in areas such as public health, employment, housing or environmental preservation), the need for a critical counterpoint to the institutional decisions ...
The debate spread to the nature and methodology of the work of the Forum, pointing out issues like the relationship to be established between the Forum and other existing social actors (residents associations, environmental movements, parties political ...). In this sense, it emphasized the heterogeneous nature of the Forum, not to invade, but it brought online, these forms of association existing possible interactions and solidarity between them through the Forum. It was also stressed work on the basis of consensus, acting on matters in which there is full agreement among the participants, and promoting information and debate in those cases in which the Forum hosting positions. Also appreciated the opportunity to study, and if there is consensus to do so, take a local perspective some of the initiatives and campaigns promoted in the coming months from the World Social Forum and the European Social Forum.
There was a complete consensus among those present at the need and opportunity to relaunch at this time the activity of the Forum. Accordingly, he gave up the same, proceeding to the election of a new directive, as president Carmen Almena, Jesus Gomez Romero as vice president, secretary Jónatham Moriche, Manuel Díaz Sajti as treasurer, and members Domingo Dominguez, Francisco Javier Galán, Juana M ª Isabel Valle and Villanueva.
